    People in Counties Manukau, Waikato and Canterbury can expect to see navy-coloured police SUVs patrolling the streets from the end of the month


    They'll be used for a six-month pilot study of armed response teams.

    Police Commissioner Mike Bush says every vehicle will be staffed by three Armed Offenders Squad-trained personnel.

    They'll wear a standard police uniform but will be equipped to immediately support front-line staff.
