An early heat wave has put pressure on a small Central Otago town's water supply

Arrowtown locals were once again urged to conserve water yesterday, with the reservoir unable to meet demand.
Temperatures there soared to 30 degrees
Council workers are assessing the situation today.
An upgrade to the water supply, to cope with the growth began last year - but a new reservoir isn't planned to start construction until next year
