32-year-old Venod Skantha's pleaded not guilty to murdering 16-year-old Amber-Rose Rush in February last year.
The Crown says he entered her home, and slashed her throat.
Yesterday the court heard Rush and her mother had plans to ask Skantha to either pay them off or they'd take claims he supplied alcohol to minors and offered to pay Rush for sex - to police.
They also heard from Rush's boyfriend at the time of her death - who admitted being on the property around the time she was killed.
