Leon Jayet-Cole died in 2015 - allegedly at the hands of his step-father James Roberts, who then died before the case went to court.
An inquest into the little boy's death was held this week, and the decision's been reserved.
Leon's father, Michael Cole, says the inquest has helped him move forward - but he'll never get over losing his boy.
He says the country's missed out on a very special little boy's contribution to the world - and that'll always haunt him.
