Eight people have been arrested after a brawl that involved as many as 100 teenagers from several Auckland schools on a wealthy beachfront

And it's been revealed the fight was organised weeks in advance on Instagram.

About 40 police officers were called to Mission Bay's Selwyn Reserve yesterday afternoon to break up the fight.

Police say seven youths were arrested for disorder or fighting, and one has been taken in for assault.

It's believed the brawl pitted students from west and south Auckland against each other, and there is already talk online of a round two.
