Auckland have beaten Wellington by four wickets chasing 192 to win at Eden Park outer oval in their Ford Trophy opener, with Ben Lister grabbing five for 18 from 7.5 overs

Lister says it was tough start for both sides.

Otago have beaten Northern Districts by 28 runs in Hamilton, courtesy of the Duckworth-Lewis method.

Central Districts and Canterbury have shared the points in Palmerston North after an abandonment.

In the women's Hallyburton Johnstone Shield, Auckland and Canterbury had wins with the CD-Otago match washed out.
