The Court of Appeal has thrown out a Christchurch white supremacist's appeal
29 November 2019
44-year-old Philip Neville Arps was sentenced to 21 months in prison, for distributing the mosque shooting live stream and modifying the video.
The High Court had already dismissed Arps' first appeal.
He then tried going higher up with a second sentence appeal.
But the Court of Appeal says Arps statements around his offending demonstrates profound hostility towards Muslim people.
It says a District Court judge imposed prison sentence was appropriate in light of the seriousness of Arps offending, whereas home detention was not.
