Friends and family members are paying tribute to a teenage girl who died in a Christchurch crash

Emergency services were called to Summit Road around 11 on Wednesday night - to reports a car full of teens had run off the road.

17-year-old Ashburton resident Tayla Alexander was killed - and another teenager remains in critical condition.

One friend wrote on Facebook that although they couldn't make any more memories together - they'd always treasure the ones they have.

Another describes her as a beautiful girl taken too soon.
