Passengers flying to the capital from Auckland this morning will have to make other plans

Passengers flying to the capital from Auckland this morning will have to make other plans

Auckland departures to Wellington between 6.30 and 8am have been cancelled due to severe weather.

Other flights to and from Auckland, Tauranga, Timaru, Rotorua, and Nelson between 6.30 and 9am have also been cancelled.

The airline's senior customer and care manager Doug Grant says the strength and direction of wind will make for challenging conditions.

He says Air New Zealand will add extra capacity later in the day to make up for the cancelled flights.
