An Auckland iwi wants to buy the port - and fill it with public space

Ngati Whatua Orakei have stayed quiet on the relocation debate... but have today released a full plan of their vision for the area.

Deputy Chair Ngarimu Blair says Aucklanders - and international visitors - want the jewel of our harbour city put to better use.

He says their plan reconnects people with the Waitemata... with people able to visit urban beaches and sea baths with their kids or after work.
