Strawberries have been taken off the shelves at Porirua Pak'nSave after glass was found in the fruit

Strawberries have been taken off the shelves at Porirua Pak'nSave after glass was found in the fruit

Shopper Adam Reeve says as he and his friend were eating the berries, they crunched on something solid - and found glass fragments in the punnet.

He describes the glass as thin, like "old lightbulb glass" and says the store gave them a refund.

They turned down the offer of replacement strawberries.

Pak'nSave owner Foodstuffs says they're aware of the isolated incident, and have removed all contaminated products from the store.

Foodstuffs, the supplier and MPI are all investigating.
