A clinical psychologist in Whakatane says the effects of the Whakaari/ White Island tragedy will continue for months

Two people remain missing after the December 9 eruption.
Some psychologists in the region are cutting their holiday leave to manage an influx of referrals since the tragedy.
Dr Sally Davis says the mental health impacts of this disaster have some similarities to others in New Zealand's recent past.
However, she says this has the added complexity of being something no one in New Zealand has experienced before.
Dr Davis says it brings with it its own idiosyncrasies.
