    The Breakers held onto victory in the Australian basketball league.

    They beat the Illawarra Hawks 91-89 in Wollongong.

    The Breakers' scoring was led by American Scotty Hopson who scored a game high 27 points.



    Former All Blacks lock Sam Strahan has died.

    Strahan played 45 games for the All Blacks including 17 tests and featured alongside Sir Colin Meads on a regular basis.

    Manawatu regard Strahan as one of their greats and union chairman Tim Myers says it's a sad day for the union.

    Myers says Strahan was proud of the Manawatu and they were proud to have him.

    Sam Strahan was 74.



    England's Fallon Sherrock 's being labelled the Queen of Alexandra Palace.

    Days after becoming the first woman to win a darts world championships match, Sherrock has advanced to the third round in London after knocking out the world number 11 - Austrian Mensur Suljovic - in the second round.

    Sherrock's third round match is on Saturday morning.
