Former England international Brian Moore is urging rulemakers do away with conversions and make all tries worth seven points.
In his column for London's Telegraph, Moore says there's no reason a thrilling back movement scored in the corner should have a tougher two points than one scored from pick and go's near the line.
Moore has also suggested a time limit on lineouts and scrums, with the throw-in to be reversed if the feeding team infringes.
He believes both of these changes, among others, would seriously increase ball-in-play time.
