The unprecedented fire season began in September.
The worst of the blazes are in the state's south coast and in Victoria's east.
Sky News reporter Stela Todorovic says 381 of the destroyed homes are on the south coast.
She says conditions are expected to worsen again this weekend, with temperatures forecast to be in the 40s again on Saturday.
