A YouGov poll of Labour members has found Sir Keir Starmer, the party's current Shadow Brexit Secretary, is the first choice for members of all ages and social classes, according to The Guardian.
Starmer, who is yet to confirm his candidacy, proved more popular than fellow contenders Rebecca Long-Bailey and Emily Thornberry.
The party is facing some pressure though from members, as Labour has never had a female leader in its 120 year history.
