Tournament director Karl Budge is defending the decision to give two Kiwis main draw wildcards into tennis' ASB Classic in Auckland

Paige Hourigan will play former world number one Caroline Wozniacki and Valentina Ivanov will meet Switzerland's Jil Teichmann in the first round.
Hourigan is ranked outside the top 400 and Ivanov outside the top 800.
In previous years Budge has been hesitant to give wildcards to players with such a low ranking, but says the quality of the field has enabled him to this year.
