Just after 4.30 yesterday afternoon, two men wearing balaclavas entered Blenheim Road's Pawn Shop - using a hammer and pole to smash display cabinets before making off with jewellery.
Detective Michael Scott says they got away in a stolen black Mazda Atenza driven by a third man, before crashing just 300-metres down the road.
He says the offenders fled on foot along Hansons Lane.
Scott says the victims weren't injured, but are very shaken and receiving support.
