St John sees no quick fix for the country's mental health crisis

St John sees no quick fix for the country's mental health crisis

The organisation says it's dealt with 20-thousand mental health emergency call-outs in the past six months...up by 10 percent.

Services received a 1.9 billion dollar cash injection last year, but Mental Health Foundation chief Shaun Robinson says we won't see results for three to five years.

He says the current crisis is the legacy of past governments failing to start work on mental health 15 years ago.

Protesters blocking the development of South Auckland's Ihumatao site expect the situation will be resolved in the next few days.

Construction of nearly 500 Fletcher homes has been halted by an occupation of the land.

Lead protester Pania Newton says the deal has been a long time coming.

The Commerce Commission says it's received 18 complaints about travel comparison website Trivago, since January 2015.

Australia's Federal Court has found Trivago guilty of misleading and deceptive conduct - for suggesting top-listed prices on properties advertised on its site were the best.

In fact, hotels were being ranked according to the commission each paid to Trivago.

The Commission says it's not investigating the website, but will ensure changes made in Australia are replicated here.

A Court has heard disturbing details the murder of a West Coast mother, at the hands of her ex-boyfriend.

36-year-old Aaron Potts has pleaded guilty to killing Barbara Quinn - in the High Court at Christchurch.

    Lucy Thomson reports.

The Government's being accused of dropping the ball on the Kermadec Ocean Sanctuary.

The marine reserve would be twice the size of New Zealand and would protect hundreds of marine species.

Nelson MP Nick Smith says the Government hasn't done the work - and has blocked his Members' Bill on the sanctuary.

He says there's now no realistic prospect of getting it in place before the election.
