St John reports a significant increase in 70 to 79-year olds calling emergency services because of mental health crises.
Operations Director Norma Lane says people with dementia can often feel isolated... causing confusion, anxiety and depression.
Grey Power President Mac Welch says he's concerned about a lack of support.
He says he's had complaints from relatives of those with dementia, saying services and care facilities aren't good.
