Will Young's long layoff is about to end

The Central Districts batsman has been sidelined since suffering a torn right shoulder in April, shortly after receiving his first national contract.

Young will make his return to the game in the Ford Trophy today, when the Stags take on Otago in Dunedin.

He says it's easy to get impatient in a six-to-nine month layoff.



Elsewhere Auckland host Canterbury, while Wellington entertain Northern Districts at the Basin Reserve.

All matches begin at 11am.
