    A new plan to help tackle some of the construction industry's long term challenges


    Building and Construction Minister Jenny Salesa has launched a three-year Government-industry and Construction Sector Transformation Plan.

    It aims to deliver on the workforce and productivity gains that we require to build the houses, schools, the rail and hospital infrastructure we need in New Zealand.

    Salesa says it's been a long time coming.

    She says when Labour came into Government there was a shortage of 30-thousand skilled people in construction.
