A man was questioned on the street, and later approached at his home and restrained by officers after he said he didn't want to talk.
Relieving District Commander Bruce O'Brien says the officers were speaking to as many people possible after a sexual assault case in the area.
He says they acknowledge the situation at the man's address could have been handled differently, and Police have apologised.
