The men's Black Sticks have broken their FIH Pro League drought with a 3-1 shoot-out victory over Great Britain.

Player of the match Richard Joyce was pleased with his side's performance.

It's their first victory in the format after 16 games.

The women's Black Sticks had a 3-0 loss in their Pro League match against Great Britain's women's team.

The teams will all hit the turf again tonight for the second round of matches.

The Chiefs are two from two to start the Super Rugby season, scoring a 25-15 win over the Crusaders in Hamilton.

Chiefs halfback Brad Weber says defence was key to their success.

The Blues have notched their first Super Rugby win of the season with a dominant 32-12 win over the Waratahs.

The Blues never trailed in the game and were more clinical in the rainy conditions.
