Malcolm Rewa's appeal of his murder conviction has been pushed back
20 February 2020
Rewa was convicted last year for the 1992 murder of Auckland woman Susan Burdett.
Judges in the Court of Appeal stopped today's proceedings before they'd even started.
Rewa's lawyer's been asked to provide a medical report to determine whether he's fit to continue acting for Rewa.
Rewa will then need to provide written consent for his lawyer - Paul Chambers - to continue representing him.
The appeal will now take place in Auckland at the beginning of April.
