Wellington City Council's investigating a network failure that's knocked out street lights to a number of suburbs over the past two nights

It's seen large parts of northern and western suburbs, and the CBD in darkness for long periods.
A City Council spokesman says equipment failures at a Wellington Electricity plant are to blame - and crews are working to fix the issue.
The extent of the problem is not clear - but the council says it hopes the lights will be back on tonight.
Suburbs affected include Karori, Wilton, Wadestown, Thorndon, Ngaio and Khandallah.
