A clean-up job continues in Wellington's CBD after a water main burst overnight

Crews were called to deal with the main and subsequent surface flooding at the corner of Hunter Street and Jervois Quay, at about 4.30am.
Wellington Water says two buildings have no water, as the burst main is repaired.
A spokesman says the break is in a cast iron water main which was originally laid in 1900, and refurbished in 1970 by spraying concrete around the interior to extend its working life.
A small section of Hunter Street remains closed as the water is mopped up.
