The Christchurch shooter's guilty pleas has closed a chapter on New Zealand's largest-ever criminal conviction

The Christchurch shooter's guilty pleas has closed a chapter on New Zealand's largest-ever criminal conviction

Brenton Tarrant's pleaded guilty to 51 charges of murder, 40 of attempted murder and one charge of engaging in a terrorist act at two mosques.

Sentencing will be delayed because of Covid-19.

Police Commissioner, Mike Bush, acknowledges police and other agency staff's hard work and professionalism on the case.

He says a very large prosecution team has been working extremely hard since March 15 last year.
