New Zealand Rugby League is clinging to the hope of getting a club season underway at the start of next month

The season is still penciled in to run from the 2nd of May, although NZRL will review this again on the 17th of April.
With the NZRL having canned all rep and tournament competitions for the year, it may create an opportunity for club competitions to run later into the spring.
Canterbury Rugby League CEO Duane Fyfe says that's one option being looked at.
The NRL is meeting today to discuss a possible re-start of its competition on May 21st.
