    The Bay of Plenty Regional Council has made a desperate plea for a reduction in water use as dry weather puts a strain on the region's waterways


    Rivers and streams in the western Bay in particular are seeing reduced flows, with some reaching near record low levels.

    The council's preparing to put extra measures in place if there's a risk to the environmental health of waterways.
