Complaints have fallen from around 1200 to 1300 per week in Auckland, to about three to four hundred during lockdown, and Wellington is also seeing a sizeable reduction in noise issues.
Auckland Council regulatory compliance manager Steve Pearce says normally the most complaints are about noise from parties - but during lockdown the main issues have been DIY noise and alarms going off in empty buildings. .
