Auckland Transport staff have been put into isolation after being spat at by passengers
17 April 2020
Three Auckland Transport Officers were spat at this morning - as they escorted a woman off the train for taking a joyride.
There was a similar incident on Wednesday night, when a member of the public spat at a security guard.
AT Chief Executive Shane Ellison says the behaviour is unacceptable and the police are involved.
He says staff are working day and night to keep public transport open for essential workers - and it's distressing when they come under attack.
