The bank has released its latest half year results on the Australian Stock Exchange.
It's made a statutory profit of 1.5 billion Australian dollars, 44 percent down on the previous half year.
It says there have been record volumes of home loan refinance applications and a collapse in ATM and branch transactions.
ANZ says it entered the crisis in a strong financial, operational and cultural position.
It will continue to focus on strategic clarity, prudent risk settings and being disciplined.
