ANZ's had a profit drop - but the bank's boss says the effects of Covid-19 are still to come

The bank's statutory net profit after tax for the last half year has dropped 15 percent to 789-million dollars.

Chief executive Antonia Watson says the losses will come over time - and the bank is preparing itself for forecast losses down the track.

She says how long things are tough for depends on how long it takes businesses to get back to normal.

Watson says the bank's preparing for its forecasted losses, which'll likely change from impacts in the next half year.
