Northland is still firmly stuck in a prolonged drought

According to the Northland Regional Council the region is in one of the most severe droughts on record.
Natural Resources Monitoring Manager Jason Donaghy says they need sufficient rain before next summer.
He says the region needs at least 80 percent of normal rainfall and if they don't they will be more susceptible to tipping into another drought.
