An Auckland music teacher has been sent to jail for five years for historic sexual offending against two boys

Sixty-three year old Dennis Brimble was sentenced on seven charges in the Auckland District Court this morning.

The charges related to offending against a 14 year old in West Auckland in 1984, and an 11 year old on the North Shore in 2001.

He was found guilty at a trial in January.

Police have thanked both victims for having the bravery and courage to come forward.
