Tourism operators on the West Coast say the Government's 400 million dollar budget announcement will do little to help them stay afloat

Tourism operators on the West Coast say the Government's 400 million dollar budget announcement will do little to help them stay afloat

The package offers funding to key tourism attractions, and a campaign to promote local travel.

Four Scenic hotels have closed on the West Coast and there's been a dramatic rise in the number of job seeker applications, since covid-19 hit.

National's West Coast MP Maureen Pugh says a long-term tourism package is what the Government should be planning.

Pugh says it's international tourists, need to come back into the country - in order to rebuild the economy.
