Australian Rugby League Commission chief Peter V'landys has accused the NRL's referees of self-interest after peace talks failed, prompting arbitration proceedings

Australian Rugby League Commission chief Peter V'landys has accused the NRL's referees of self-interest after peace talks failed, prompting arbitration proceedings

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

The NRL and referees' union met with the Fair Work Commission for three hours yesterday without progress, following the decision to revert to one whistleblower per match.

Negotiations resume on Friday, where a result will be achieved to prevent a delay or strike action.

V'landys claims the issue's presented an unwanted distraction as the NRL tries to pool its energy into a return.
