    Coromandel drivers are being encouraged to take care with heavy rain set to continue


    The heavy rain was forecast to continue from 3 this afternoon and overnight tonight.

    State Highway 25 between Hikuai and Whitianga re-opened this morning - after being closed overnight due to flooding.

    There's an underslip at the top of Pumpkin Hill on the highway north of Tairua and the shoulder is closed.

    Temporary speed limits and traffic management are in place in a number of locations - and contractors are working to clear debris.
