Auckland University's making an effort to help its students disadvantaged by Covid-19

Auckland University's making an effort to help its students disadvantaged by Covid-19

It's implementing a series of initiatives to help current and future students - such as upscaling students' grades, and not requiring a guaranteed entry rank score for students wanting to attend the university.

Auckland University's Damon Salesa says a lot of people were affected by the pandemic, through little access to internet or learning support.

He says some students trying to get into the university didn't have room to study - because they had overcrowded homes.

He says students could have lost around two months worth of study... which is significant for NCEA students.
