Patients and healthcare workers... are suffering from the under-investment in hospitals

A Ministry of Health stocktake shows 17 of the 32 intensive care units, emergency departments and operating theatres assessed are rated 'poor'.
Association of Salaried Medical Specialists Executive Director Sarah Dalton says it's bad for patients.
She says in the Hawke's Bay - some wards don't even have air conditioning.
She says for patients who already have a fever, or are post-operative, this would mean they're exposed to unsafe conditions in the wards.
Dalton says this equally applies to those working in our healthcare facilities.
