63-year-old Leo Molloy appeared at the District Court in Auckland today, accused of flouting a suppression order last November.
Court documents show Molloy allegedly breached the order on November 22, the same day Millane's killer was found guilty of murder.
It's also alleged Molloy knowingly published the suppressed name on November 29.
Breaching suppression can result in up to six months imprisonment, or a 25 thousand dollar fine.
