Following an earthquake risk report, Hastings District Council has decided to vacate one of its offices

Following an earthquake risk report, Hastings District Council has decided to vacate one of its offices

The three-storey building is located on the corner of Warren Street and Lyndon Road, and has about 80 council staff members working onsite.

The seismic assessment which was conducted this month found that the building had an earthquake strength standard of less than 34 percent.

Chief Executive Nigel Bickle says as a short term solution, staff will work from home or appropriate alternative locations.
