The Auckland District Court has sentenced Melissa McIntyre to six months' supervision.
Her Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Bella, had pneumonia, was dehydrated, too weak to stand on her own and was covered in fleas.
She's been disqualified from owning dogs for five years and ordered to pay 12-hundred dollars to SPCA.
