A Dunedin man who stabbed a miniature horse to death will appeal his sentence

Reginald Ozanne was jailed for two-and-a-half years when he was sentenced in the Dunedin District Court last month - after pleading guilty to wilfully ill-treating an animal.
Star was found with 41 stab wounds in a Waitati paddock in February last year - leaving the small coastal community in shock.
The Otago Daily Times report Ozanne's appeal will be heard in the High Court in November.
