Auckland Council is going back to its original plan for rates increases
15 July 2020
It's set to push ahead with a 3.5 percent rates rise, to help deal with the city's ever-worsening drought and make up for a shortfall in other revenue.
The council had previously been considering a 2.5 percent rates rise.
Mayor Phil Goff says the higher rates rise is supported by all local boards and most councillors.
