South Island petrol prices could be headed even lower

Waikato-based discount fuel supplier Waitomo is opening three new Fuel Stops in August - two in Dunedin and one in Christchurch.
Managing Director Jimmy Ormsby says they've driven prices down in the North Island - and now it's time to help Kiwis in the South.
He says locals have suffered from price gouging - paying disproportionately high prices for their fuel - because of little or no competition in the area.
Ormsby says the covid pandemic has seen prices drop to a fair level in the past six months - and the company plans to make sure they stay fair.
