A South Korean traveller who visited those regions tested positive for Covid-19 after flying home.
Anyone who was in Queenstown, Te Anau or Milford from July 1st to the 4th who has symptoms has been asked to get tested.
Testing in Christchurch is focused on people who visited the same locations as the man during his overnight stay on July 20, and airport staff.
Four more testing centres have been set up in Auckland.
They're in Northcote, Eden Terrance, Henderson and Wiri.
