The former Wallabies fullback's Catalans side were beaten 34-6 by champions St Helens in the first match since the coronavirus halt in March.
Folau remained standing while the 25 other players and the referee knelt at Headingley.
Catalans coach Steve McNamara says Folau's entitled to make a personal choice.
