More than 100-million-dollars is being invested into protecting six regions against climate change

More than 100-million-dollars is being invested into protecting six regions against climate change

It's coming from three-billion-dollars allocated to infrastructure in the Government covid 19 Recovery Fund.

Manawatu-Whanganui is getting the most - 26.9-million-dollars for five projects.

Tairawhiti, Waikato, Hawke's Bay, Wellington, and Canterbury are also getting a slice of the pie.

Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters says climate change poses a real danger to regional New Zealand and its infrastructure.

He says the funding will also create jobs and stimulate local economies.
